Meet the Artist: Ava Varszegi | Solo Exhibition 2024

Meet our October artist and join us for the Opening Reception of her Solo show Thursday, October 24 starting at 6:30PM.

Ava Varszegi (she/her) is a Natural Science Illustrator and Educator based in Providence, RI. She studied Illustration at the Rhode Island School of Design, and earned certificates in Graphic Design and Natural Science Illustration in their Continuing Education department. Her work is primarily done in watercolor and colored pencil, and focuses on depicting hyperrealistic plant and animal specimens drawn from direct observation, most of which are found in New England. Her favorite subjects are insects, beetles in particular. When not working on her own art, Varszegi is teaching art to youth across the state of RI.
